Rick Goossen, CEO
Mr. Goossen has focused on entrepreneurial strategy, finance and growth for over 20 years as a serial new venture founder, a strategic advisor to high growth companies, a lawyer, a researcher, an author, an educator and as a professional public speaker.
Mr. Goossen previously lived in Hong Kong for a number of years, working with the largest law firm, a leading merchant bank and also started his own company with a number of local partners. He also previously lived in New York City. He travels to New York City regularly and works closely with a select group of boutique Wall Street investment banking firms that specialize in emerging growth companies.
He has earned the following degrees: a PhD in entrepreneurship education from Middlesex University in London, UK; an LL.M. from Columbia University, New York City, the leading institution in the world for Asian legal studies; an LL.B from McGill University, Montreal; and a B.A. (Hons.) (First Class) from Simon Fraser University, Vancouver.
Mr. Goossen is an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship and Strategy at the School of Business, Trinity Western University. In addition, he is the Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Leaders (www.twu.ca/cel). He is also Director of Entrepreneurial Leadership, Transforming Business, a research centre at the University of Cambridge (www.transformingbusiness.net).
He is a member of the Columbia Club of New York, Columbia Law School Association, a member of the Faculty of Law Dean’s Circle, McGill University and Simon Fraser University President’s Club (Life Member).
